Make a Difference Day in Fountain Hills, Arizona, is an annual community service event where hundreds of volunteers spend a morning helping local residents, seniors, and community properties with free maintenance and clean-up projects. Four Peaks Rotary has been supporting this initiative for many years. We tend to have 2-3 groups we support on Make a Difference Day and this year is no exception. This year we are returning to help our friends at the Fountain Hills Theater with their annual prop storage shed clean out. Four Peaks Rotary assists the Fountain Hills Theater staff clean out, inventory and stow props used in their theater productions. By partnering with the FH Theater, our annual hands-on work with maintenance of prop equipment improves their ability to serve the community. We are also working on an outdoor landscaping project at the Little Falcons Preschool which supports two of the Rotary International seven areas, Basic Education and Literacy and Protecting the Environment.

Four Peaks Rotary is enhancing our Round Up for Four Peaks Rotary program. Our website has information on how the program works and the benefits of supporting the program. Funds donated during the Round Up For Four Peaks Rotary program support our Difference Makers fund. This is a fund designed to support smaller, more immediate requests in our community. If you are a merchant and are interested in learning more about the program, please reach out to us. For any merchant considering participating in the Shop Local Perks program with the Chamber of Commerce, the Round Up program would be a nice compliment as Four Peaks Rotary Club includes merchants participating in the program, in our social media outreach.

Nothing says Thanksgiving Day in Fountain Hills better than the annual Thanksgiving Day Parade, sponsored by the Fountain Hills Chamber of Commerce. Celebrating over 40 years of local history, it is recognized as a premier Thanksgiving Day parade in the region. This year's theme is Happy Birthday, America. Once again, Four Peaks Rotarians will be there in force, both with a float in the parade as well as with spectators lining the streets. We hope to see you there!

If you attend the Fall Festival of Fine Arts and Crafts in November, you'll be sure to see Four Peaks Rotarians walking the aisles and driving golf cars as we manage trash for the Fountain Hills Chamber of Commerce. The event hosts nearly 500 global artists, sculptors, painters, photographers, jewelers, and craftspeople showcasing original works across a wide range of price points and has been a mainstay in Fountain Hills for over 50 years. The festival draws more than 200,000 visitors annually. As Rotarians, Protecting the Environment is one of our Areas of Focus — and “Service Above Self” is at the heart of everything we do. Additionally, our Four Peaks Rotary booth will be onsite, staffed by Four Peaks Rotary club members. Our goal is to greet visitors, answer any questions about Rotary and showcase our service work. It’s also a great opportunity to meet Rotarians from other areas.
